The before shots. The final workdays prior to construction (Winter 2011-2012).
Construction as of 5/27/2012 - More formwork and rebar for retaining walls. Once the concrete is poured, there should be one wall remaining to be done at street level.
Construction as of 6/7/ & 6/8 2012 - Work on the retaining walls is progressing. Except for the street level wall, the structural work on the hillside is complete and facing tiles are on site. Subsoil remains to be redistributed, water installed and top soil applied.
Construction: June 21-June 28, 2012 - Maybe not the beginning of the end but perhaps the end of the beginning (If Winston Churchill looked up at the site and wrote for the website that is). All retaining walls have been poured and coping applied. Back filling is largely complete. Heavy equipment is gone but likely will return to back fill the recently poured street level wall. Grading looks close to complete and the curved and other walls are looking good from the street and up close. An informal survey suggests the City and contractor have done well with this.
